FOOTBALL IS BACK

The FA have announced that Grassroots Football can return!

We would strongly recommend a phased return to competitive football activity as follows:

• Until 31 July – When ready, you can begin competitive training, with the overall group size (inclusive of coaches) being limited to 30 people;

• From August – Competitive matches to begin, for example pre-season fixtures, festivals and small sided football competitions;

• From September – Grassroots leagues can return 👍🏻

There will be lots to consider and social distancing measures to implement but football is back

2020/2021 Thank You NHS kit

BJFF and Macron are proud to announce that we are launching a Thank You NHS kit for next season. This is in conjunction with Scottish Premier league side Hibernian FC and other Macron Grassroots football teams.

We are looking to say Thank You to the NHS and support everything they do in the fight against Covid-19.

£5 for each shirt goes to the Victoria Hospital to support the work they do in the fight against Covid 19.

BJFF are looking forward to running out in this kit next season and supporting the fantastic effort our NHS has made in fighting this pandemic.

Kits can be ordered now, follow your existing team wear for size guide, and organise with your team manager.

June Covid Update - Football gets closer

The FA has issued further guidance to all grassroots football and informal football activity outside the professional game following the Government’s relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions from 1 June 2020. Here at BJFF we are trying to work through some of the risk assessments and procedures to ensure that all players, coaches and staff remain safe.

We’ve had a quick view point from BJFF Manager’s, to discuss the potential return to training.

we are really pleased to report, no matter how keen they are to return, they all support the view we wait till we can do it safely.

Although the FA has given the ok for 1-2-1s or small sessions the LFA have requested we wait. Plenty to consider to ensure they are done safely for all involved.

So we continue with the view that we bide our time and only return when safe to do.

For now we will continue with distance coaching with Zoom sessions etc keeping our players ticking over.

When the time is right football will return and BJFF will continue to deliver fun, quality, safe sessions for all.

Thank you

May Covid Update - Behind the Scenes

So we should be enjoying our players taking part in the national sport they love! Football

Sadly as we enter week 9 of Social distancing, our football still looks a long way off yet, but we have to remember that this will be for a short period but for a bigger cause.

It is a very difficult time for players, parents, grandparents, guardians and all our members past and present but we need to continue to look after each other by Social distancing and staying safe. So please look after your families and friends during this period.

We have been communicating with the governing bodies of football and sadly it does look a while till we're back as a group playing, but what we are doing is preparing for Season 20/21 - whenever it starts!!

We've been meeting with managers (via Zoom!) and organising for the new season so your U8's are now U9's etc. With that comes transition periods as some teams move from 5 to 7,7 to 9, or 9 to 11 a side football. Obviously until we return we can't finalise these plans but we'll be ready for when we do get the green light to start again.

For season 20/21 we are looking at 37 BJFF teams competing at U7s through to U18s - this includes two U18s sides for the first time and two girls sides.

We will also have our Development football for 3-6 year olds, Wildcats for Girls aged 5-11, Football for All for players aged 4-12 and we have the support of CR Goalkeeping to train our keepers.
